A male nurse from Albay claimed the second half of the P1.18-billion Ultra Lotto jackpot prize, Tuesday at the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) in Mandaluyong City according to PCSO spokesperson Florante Solmerin.
Accompanied by 2 relatives, the 33-year-old winner presented his winning ticket and appeared to be nervous and had to be coaxed by officials with smiles and assurances for his security.
The new multi-millionaire is married, but has no children and has been supporting his family as a contractual nurse.  He bought his winning ticket from a mall in Legazpi City and had to wait for a week to claim his prize because he had to fix his schedule, Solmerin said.
The lucky winner is yet to decide what he plans to do with his winnings of P470 million, he added. PCSO officials advised the winner to invest in his security, seek advice from an expert to manage his finances, don't give in to vices and donate to charity.
The other winner of the Ultra Lotto jackpot was from Borongan, Eastern Samar who claimed his prize last week.
The P1.8 billion Ultra Lotto jackpot was the highest in PCSO history.
