BREAKING: Suspected Isis member killed in Ormoc City

REGIONAL

In a joint operation of the Philippine Army, military intelligence and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in Sitio Lawis, Brgy. Airport, Ormoc City, a suspected member of the terrorist group ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham) was killed
in the morning of Thursday, November 22.
The suspected terrorist was identified by the Army as Joseph Anulga Jr. alias “Dawud”.
In a statement from the 802nd Brigade headed by Brigadier General Louie Dagoy says “Dawud is an Islamic convert and already pledged allegiance to DAESH and its recognized caliph, Abu Bakr Al Baghdadi. Anulga was set to go on "HIJRAH", join the local terror group in Mindanao and intends to die as a martyr of Islam. Residents in the area reported the suspect for recruiting locals to convert to Islam.”
The statement also said that the suspected ISIS member was a direct associate of the late Yusuf Macuto, who was killed during the Marawi siege and was involved in a failed plot to bomb the US Embassy in November 2016.
BGen. Dagoy said that, “Anulga’s death shows the government’s conviction in protecting the people from these lawless elements. This is a clear message that your AFP and PNP will not allow neither tolerate terror groups in our midst.” -LGC
