Cebuano businessman Peter Lim is a top priority of government operatives for arrest but he is too elusive.

Phil. Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA7) Dir. Wardley Getalla said so in the sidelines of the Association of Government Information Officers-Philippine Information Agency (AGIO-PIA) forum today at the PIA Central Visayas Office in Gorordo Avenue.

Getalla said that along with the PDEA and the Philippine National Police (PNP), the military intelligence operatives is also working for the arrest of Lim.

They have a difficulty in locating him Getalla admitted, raising the possibility that the wanted businessman had been transfering from one place to another.

Getalla is appealing to the public to help the authorities, adding, there had been past incidents, that a wanted person has been caught because of the public’s help.

The government is offering P500, 000 reward money to any informant that could provide the whereabouts of Lim that will lead to his arrest.

Earlier, President Rodrigo Duterte warned Lim, and he liked the businessman killed once they crossed paths.

He then warned all those involved in the illegal drug trade that all of them would be killed. His last three years in office will have a more relentless campaign against illegal drugs.

The President made the pronouncement in Plaza Indepedencia last Sunday as he campaigned for the PDP-Laban senate ticket and its guest candidates. He also endorsed their local bets for Cebu, Cong. Gwen Garcia for Governor and Vice Mayor Edgardo Labella as Cebu City Mayor.

The Department of Justice (DOJ) earlier indicted Lim for conspiracy to commit illegal drug trading, along with self-confessed ‘shabu’ distributor Kerwin Espinosa, Marcelo Adorco, and Ruel Malindangan.

Makati City RTC Judge Gina Palamos issued the warrant of arrest against the Cebuano businessman in August last year.

Lim’s house in Mabolo Cebu City were swooped down by the police but the businessman was not around.

Lim is barred from leaving the country as the DOJ issued a Hold Departure Order (HDO) against him.
