The 17 year-old altar server who claimed that she was molested by a priest in Dumanjug town has already issued her statements to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI). Atty. Donaver Inesin said the girl has already executed a a sworn affidavit and they are conducting further investigation on the complaint. “Yes she already issued her affidavit” Inesin told Newsph.org. The NBI lawyer refused to divulge the contents of the affidavit however.

She said they will also summon the priest to get his side. The victim earlier went to the Dumanjug police station where she claimed that the priest allegedly molested her last March 3. The girl who is a altar server claimed that the priest who is already relieved of his church duties hugged and kissed her. Then she later was asked to lie in bed by midnight where she was molested. She refused the advances and left.

Accompanied by her relatives, she reported the incident to the police and later to the NBI. Cebu Archbishop Jose Palma said that the priest has already been relieved of his church duties while he also ordered a five-person committee to investigate the incident. Dumanjug has three Catholic churches; St. Francis of Assisi in Barangay Poblacion, San Vicente Ferrer Parish in Barangay Bitoon and the Our Lady of Holy Rosary-Christ the King Parish in Barangay Bulak.

The allegation against the priest in Dumanjug surfaced after a priest in Aloguinsan was also tagged in allegedly abusing two minors in December 2014.
